How do I know if I have gum disease?
Gum disease (gingivitis) will show itself as red, swollen gums that bleed when brushed
or flossed. Many people are alarmed when they notice this bleeding and will then
brush more gently, if at all. It is important that you continue to clean regularly
and firmly in order to fight the condition.
Daily brushing and cleaning between your teeth is important because it removes plaque.
If the plaque isn’t removed, it continues to build up, feeding on the food debris
left behind and causing tooth decay and gum disease.
Do you suffer with sensitive teeth or sensitive gums?
Our natural toothpastes for children and adults are formulated without irritating
synthetic chemicals, making them suitable for sensitive teeth and gums. We use organic
essential oils, Vitamin C and Myrrh to give extra protection against gum disease.
Aloe Vera is added to our organic toothpastes for its soothing effect on tender,
sensitive gums. It is also known to reduce swelling and acts as a powerful antiseptic
in gum pockets where normal cleaning is difficult.
Do you suffer with mouth ulcers?
Many people who are prone to mouth ulcers find that avoiding toothpastes containing
Sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) eases the condition. SLS is a chemical used by many
mainstream brands to make their toothpastes foam but which can also damage the lining
of your mouth.
Our natural toothpastes are free from SLS and allow you to brush effectively whilst
still being kind to your teeth and gums.
Where can I find natural toothpastes to keep my teeth and gums healthy?
To have a clean and healthy mouth you need to use the correct dental care products.
Green People has a selection of refreshing, effective natural toothpastes:
Minty Cool, a refreshing taste of
mint and especially helpful for sufferers of dry mouth syndrome.
Fennel for swollen gums, Citrus
is ideal when homoeopathy is routinely used and finally
Peppermint, a traditional mint flavour suitable for all the family.
Also available are two popular organic toothpastes for children (although adults
like them too!):
Mandarin for children who
are not so keen on the taste of mint and
Spearmint & Aloe Vera with the fresh taste of spearmint.
Sore gums, bad breath or a sore throat? Try organic mouthwashes
Bad breath is likely to be experienced by most adults and many children. Accumulation
of plaque on the teeth is the major cause of bad breath but it can also be caused
by gum disease, infected tonsils, stomach problems, dry mouth, smoking and a diet
high in fats, spicy foods and coffee. Did you know that most conventional mouthwashes
contain harsh ingredients such as Chlorhexidine, Triclosan and alcohol; some concentrated
brands are up to 75% alcohol!
Unfortunately, our organic mouthwashes are unavailable for the forseeable future
due to an ingredient becoming unavailable but we hope they will be returning to
our range in the future.
As with all Green People ranges, our natural toothpastes are free from Fluoride,
Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS), Sodium Laureth Sulphate (SLES), artificial sweeteners,
Parabens, Colourants, Ethyl Alcohol, Petrochemicals, GMOs and all other unnecessary
synthetic additives common in many of today’s health and beauty products.
